Ear Plugs become an essential part in managing chronic ear disease.

 

In adults there are various forms of dermatitis or eczema conditions which requires the ears to be kept strictly dry. Even the slightest amount of moisture may lead to unhealthy wax build up, fungal growth or thrush. This condition is known as "Chronic Otitis Externa"

Children with grommets, usually require a dry environment in their ears to reduce infections. A grommet is essentially a temporary hole in the ear drum. Any unclean water that enters the ear may get in the middle ear to cause chronic discharge.

Often shop bought ear plugs may not provide an adequate seal. We have an array of ready made ear plugs we test fit to obtain a good seal. In the rare occasion if we don't find a good match, a plug can be made to measure.
